Dealing with Difficult People

Practical strategies for success

Reasons for attending this programme:
Do you feel that some people are just too difficult to manage?  Do you find it difficult to cope with the negative behaviours of some of your colleagues, team, parents and students?  Do you feel that you are on the verge of conflict with some of them?

It is a fact of life no matter where we go, or what our role is, we may face negative people, or those who refuse to listen, or appear to want to undermine all our best efforts.
This course provides practical strategies to allow you to deal with difficult people more successfully.

What is this training about?
This one day programme provides you with the opportunity to consider what makes people difficult, investigate the factors that are involved, focus on skills and strategies that improve the situation, and practise techniques that work.  You will be able to have more flexibility in the way you deal with people and plan for success with improved confidence.
Advanced communication techniques add to your toolkit of approaches that prevent, intervene, and engage even the most difficult people.

During this programme you learn:

  • How to identify the  factors involved
  • What you can do to eliminate or reduce the factors
  • To use your language and body language more successfully
  • How to give feedback that changes behaviours
  • Models that allow you to plan ahead
  • Techniques to manage difficult people
  • Techniques to enable you to stay calm and prevent your own negative behaviours

Impact

  • A wider range of management tools in the toolkit
  • Peace in the staffroom
  • Reduction in disciplinary processes
  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • This course has been worth every penny. Fast doesn’t mean lacking in quality. The sheer tonnage of information is astonishing. It’s so worth it. You will learn a lot even if you are a very experienced teacher and you will enjoy it
    Dr Sharon Ney

  • It doesn’t matter how experience you are, go for it. The training was the most magic. Teaching must go over to learning and we in school have to take responsibility for that. I will use this in my work as a consultant helping schools to improve. Many many thanks for a great course.
    Anita Svennson,Swedish Educational consultant

  • I may wobble but I move forward with a giggle into all that is possible. The course has accelerated my own slow and steady learning into the amazing and continued possibility of learning

  • This was loads of fun and I loved it. Fun and interactive ways of learning and how to apply that to teaching. Some may think that its only for teachers but we are all teachers in different areas. This course totally surpassed my expectations and all my goals were achieved. Creative teaching makes you want to teach. I highly recommend it so that more good teachers equal more confident kids. Just do it!
