Focus on Feedback

Feedback to Feed Forwards

Reasons for attending this programme:
You know feedback should always be constructive.  This can be challenging to do, especially when there are criticisms to make?  Does giving feedback to your team, fill you with dread?  Do you groan when it’s that time for performance reviews/lesson observations?

You want your feedback to have a powerful and positive impact:  to motivate, improve performance and raise achievement.  This one day programme provides you with the opportunity to investigate and develop the skills and qualities required for feedback to feed forward to success and development.

What is this training about?
This programme is about the art of giving feedback.  Essentially giving effective feedback is a process.  It is underpinned by a set of skills, attitudes and behaviours and is one of the most important communications that a manger can engage in, with their team.  The way feedback is given and received has impact.  It can either propel people to greater achievements, or destroy self-confidence and demotivate.   This course allows you to consider the variables that affect this process, discover strategies and develop skills which lead learning and create positive outcomes.

During this programme you learn:

  • To consider context and purpose in feedback situations
  • How feedback supports competency development
  • The relationship between feedback, reflection and learning
  • How effective feedback is an on-going process
  • The part feedback plays in unlocking motivation
  • Skills, strategies and techniques that support the process, including language that works well
  • The 6 principles of feedback
  • Practical models that promote good practice

Impact

  • More effective feedback conversations
  • Well planned and well informed conversations
  • Culture of on-going development and learning
  • Staff motivated to achieve the goals set

  • This course has been worth every penny. Fast doesn’t mean lacking in quality. The sheer tonnage of information is astonishing. It’s so worth it. You will learn a lot even if you are a very experienced teacher and you will enjoy it
    Dr Sharon Ney

  • It doesn’t matter how experience you are, go for it. The training was the most magic. Teaching must go over to learning and we in school have to take responsibility for that. I will use this in my work as a consultant helping schools to improve. Many many thanks for a great course.

  • This was loads of fun and I loved it. Fun and interactive ways of learning and how to apply that to teaching. Some may think that its only for teachers but we are all teachers in different areas. This course totally surpassed my expectations and all my goals were achieved. Creative teaching makes you want to teach. I highly recommend it so that more good teachers equal more confident kids. Just do it!
